MMC PRESENTS:

There will be an introductory-level Improvisation Workshop on Saturday, May 17th at 3 PM in the Grand Hall at Meriter by Marilyn Fisher and Laurie Lang. Folks will be asked to bring their voices and/or their other musical instruments, and participation from within the group is welcome but not mandatory.

The next listening session will be at Ben Karetnick's house on Sunday, June 1, at 5 PM. Members will receive an email reminder a few days earlier, requesting an RSVP and providing the form you can fill out about the CD selection you would like to have played. As usual, it promises to be lots of fun! Don't forget to bring along your pizza money!!

The "Art of the Duo" , a summer series sponsored by the Madison Music Collective (with partial funding from the Madison Arts Commission) will consist of three concerts of duo performers at Capitol Lakes (formerly Meriter) on June 21, July 19, and August 23. The following performers--stellar musicians from Madison as well as players from as far away as Massachusettss, Indiana, and Illinois--will participate:

Sat. June 21, 7:30 PM: Ray Rideout, sax and Paul Hastil, piano followed by John Greiner, sax and Dave Stoler, piano.
Sat. July 19, 7:30 PM: Marilyn Fisher, vocals and Laurie Lang, bass followed by Clifford White, saxophone and Ben Karetnick, drums.

Sat. August 23, 7:30 PM: Joanne Pow!ers, saxophone and Tim Daisy, percussion followed by Jane Reynolds, piano and (MMC co-founder) Hans Sturm, bass.

Series tickets will be available as well as individual concert tickets. More information will follow.
